About 9root

9root designs, builds, and operates end-to-end AI agent solutions for insurance operations. The company was founded by technology entrepreneurs Sean Chou and Sean Casey, both with deep expertise in enterprise software, process automation, and workflow orchestration.

Sean Chou was the founding CTO/COO of Fieldglass, the leader in ERP for contingent workforce management (acquired by SAP for $1B), and later the CEO/co-founder of Catalytic, an early leader in enterprise process automation (acquired by PagerDuty).

Sean Casey was the CTO/co-founder of Shiftgig, a contingent staffing platform (acquired by EmployBridge), before joining divvyDOSE as the founding CPO, a technology enabled complex care pharmacy (acquired by Optum).

What Is a Design Partner?

We partner with Carriers, MGAs, and TPAs looking to modernize operations without the burden of building new systems. Whether you're a lean TPA without in-house developers or a large carrier with a dedicated tech team, you can be a strong fit.

What matters most is that you:

  • Have manual workflows ripe for automation (claims intake, data enrichment, email triage, etc.)
  • Are open to collaborating closely with our team to share workflows and feedback
  • Want to see real value fast, without committing engineering resources

We work side by side with both operations and technology teams—but there’s no custom dev work required. We integrate with your existing tools, processes, and SOPs to get up and running quickly.
